Wintry weather takes aim south of Louisville overnight

Mostly dry with cool temperatures Wednesday in the Louisville area; chance of winter mix for southern KY

BECAUSE WE STILL HAVE SOME COOL GIRLS, especially in your back yard. Your sidewalk around your house may be icy, but we had a bit more winter weather overnight in our southern communities. THAT’S WHY THIS MORNING WE ARE WATCHING UNCLEAN ROADS, BRIDGES AND PASSAGES FOR A LITTLE DIFFICULTY IN NAKALS. THIS is really the only impressive weather outside of BANDING THROUGH TEENS AND 20S to start our day. WE HAVE BEEN IN THE CITY FOR 23 YEARS. WE GO 27 AND CAMPBELLSVILLE WHICH IS ON THE HIGHER SIDE. AND LOOK AT THOSE YOUNGSTERS FROM THE NORTH WHICH ARE HAVING IN SOUTH INDIA. THAT’S IT UNTIL THE COLD DAY. YOU CAN SEE THE REMAINING MOISTURE FROM ALL THE MIXTURE OF RAIN, SNOW AND ICE WE HAD IN OUR SOUTHERN COMMUNITIES OVERNIGHT. BUT NOW THINGS ARE GENERALLY CALMER IN OUR SKY TODAY. WE WILL CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE COLD AIR, BUT THE HIGH WILL REACH AT LEAST 37 UNDER PARTLY CLEAR SKIES. THIS IS UNTIL A LOT OF THE REMAINING SNOW AND ICE THAT IS ON THE GROUND HAS MELTED, CAUSING THE CLOUDS TONIGHT. WE WILL BE FREEZING BY 10AM WITH LOWS IN THE 20S. AND WE IN THE SOUTHERN COMMUNITIES WILL WATCH FOR SOME FREEZING RAIN OR SNOW TONIGHT IN SOUTHERN PARTS OF US. LET’S LOOK AT THE DRY AFTERNOON, MORE THAN THE EVENING. BUT AS WE GO TONIGHT ON THE CUMBERLAND PARKWAY WE ARE GOING TO SEE SOME WINTER WEATHER, IT SHOULD BE SHORT AND NOT CAUSE TOO MANY PROBLEMS. MUCH MORE CLOUDY FOR OUR THURSDAY THAN TODAY. THEREFORE, WE WILL REMAIN PARTLY CLOUDY BUT MOSTLY DRY ACROSS THE AREA. AND WE EXPECT THAT WE WILL BE GOOD FOR THE NEXT WEEK. TOMORROW THIRTY WILL TURN FORTY, BUT THEN YOU WILL LIVE THIRTY ON FRIDAY. BUT AS WE GET BACK INTO THE FORTIES ON SATURDAY, WE WILL BRING THOSE TEMPERATURES UP AND BACK TO THE MIDDLE AND UPPER FIFties SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. EVEN AHEAD OF RAIN ON TUESDAY, WHICH WILL RISE ABOVE 61 DEGREES ON THE LAST DAY ON THE CALENDAR. THIS LAST IS ABOUT PREVENTION. EXPECT WARMER CONDITIONS WHICH WILL PRODUCE SOME SNOW AND ICE, BUT SOME OF THEY MAY STILL BE ON THE SIDE. WHAT DO YOU DO ON THE ROADS? AND, YOU KNOW, OF COURSE IN SOME OF OUR SOUTHERN COMMUNITIES, MATT, AS YOU MENTIONED, WE’RE COMBATING THROUGH MORE ACCUMULATION, VERY LIGHT, PROBLEM-BLUE, DERBY PROBLEM. BUT WE ALSO HAVE SOME PROBLEMS IN THE METRO. LET’S GET IT RIGHT. YOU CAN SEE NORTH NEAR SHELBYVILLE ROAD GENE SNYDER. THIS IS ONLY A USED VEHICLE, BUT IT WILL DO ITS DAMAGE. YOU ARE BREAKING OUR WALL HERE WITH VERY SLOW TRAFFIC. It is clear that there is CONTINUING CONSTRUCTION here. AS YOU TRAVEL NORTH, ALL THE WAY TO 64 BACK AT GEN SNYDER, SPEEDS DROP APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. ALSO WATCH THE CRASH HERE IN BLANKENBAKER, RIGHT ON THE RAILWAY. WE ARE CONTINUING TO MONITOR A FEW OTHER ISSUES. MOSTLY IN THE METRO, WITH A FEW PROBLEM SPOTS IN THE SOUTH. FIRST POINT ON THE BLUEGRASS PARKWAY, IT’S JUST NEAR 64. KEEP THIS IN MIND. IF YOU ARE AROUND 64, WE WILL MEET THERE WITH HONEST. In fact, you can see it’s already starting to slow down some of the traffic on Benson Road. SO WE WILL MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOU UPDATED ON THIS. WE ALSO WATCH THE INJURY OF SHEIKH PRESTON IN THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH GENE SNYDER, AS I MENTIONED, IS THE LION’S SHARE OF LIGHT TO OUR SOUTHERN COMMUNITIES. THEN SOMETIMES IT TAKES SECOND ROADS EASILY. YOU LOOK FINE, BUT YOU’RE TOO BUSY TO BE CLOSE TO SHERMAN MINTON 64TH.
