Small Business Saturday 2022: Where to shop local this weekend

ST. LOUIS – With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year.

Big retailers offer sales on Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday, but you can help your neighbors by supporting local small businesses during Small Business Saturday.

American Express came up with Small Business Saturday in 2010 as a way to help small businesses gain visibility. Over the past decade, the day has grown into a national event with businesses and markets in all 50 states participating.

Central West End

The Central West End is home to dozens of local shops and restaurants. Already this Saturday, you can expect a festive atmosphere, complete complementary coffee and hot chocolate, festive street performers and a gift for the first 250 shoppers.

Municipal foundry

City Foundry STL will host its first holiday market of the season on Saturday, and small businesses in the foundry will also be offering sales.

Over the next four Saturdays, the markets along Foundry Way will feature more than 100 local vendors.

Shops in Kimmswick are inviting you to visit them this weekend. There are over 25 small businesses that will be offering great items and specials all day.

Kirkwood Community Center

Kirkwood Community Center is hosting its fourth annual Small Business Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event will include products and designs from local businesses and artisans, raffles to raise money for local nonprofit Show Me Care Bags, and other activities.

South Grand

The business community on South Grand invites locals to come check out the shops and restaurants and stay at the end of the day for the tree lighting at Ritz Park. Shopping continues all day at South Grand, while the tree lighting event runs from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
