About Services

Swinburne University of Technology’s Center for Astrophysics and Supercomputing is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Fast Radio Bursts to join their team.

Under the guidance of A/Prof. Ryan Shannon and others, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to use state of the art radio frequency data to conduct their research. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and to leverage the knowledge and skills of external partners.

About you

To qualify for this role, you will need to have experience with the following accounting records:

  • Advanced knowledge of advanced computer languages ​​(e.g., Python, C, C++, cuda) in a Unix environment
  • The good news of radio has exploded in the sky
  • Demonstrated high impact writing ability
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and advanced computing

Eligibility

  • A doctoral degree earned in neutron stars, fast radio waves, or computational astrophysics, or a closely related data science field where high-level computing and statistics are important.
